Dependency check (weekly)

• I wrote constraints before prompting
• I refused at least one “build this for me” urge on life-safety work
• I did not treat an AI materials list as purchase-ready without datasheets
• I did not accept an AI permit yes/no

Privacy stop

• No raw floorplans uploaded; any image is minimized to the necessary area and uses an approved channel after a re-identification/privacy check — redaction alone is not a guarantee
• No kids’ rooms / valuables / security panels in clear photos
• No address-linked utility or insurance docs pasted raw

Escalate to an appropriately qualified professional / AHJ when

• Electrical, gas, structural, roof-load, or suspected asbestos
• Permit or code applicability is unclear
• Quotes disagree wildly on scope or safety assumptions

Before selecting a contractor

• Verified current licence/registration where required with the issuing authority
• Checked insurance, relevant references, exclusions, and who is responsible for permits/inspections
• Compared written scope, materials/specifications, change-order process, warranty, and payment stages
• Did not make a large or irreversible payment merely because an AI summary ranked one quote first
