Consumer Complaint Letter Card

For the method in Writing a Consumer Complaint Letter From Your Own Receipts. Facts, dates, and a specific remedy only — no legal threats, no invented consumer-rights claims.

Not for

Legal threats or citing a law as applying to your situation. If the company does not resolve things, escalate to a consumer protection agency or ombudsman, not a legal claim you cannot back.

The two prompts to reuse

1. Draft the complaint

Using only these facts [paste redacted timeline], draft a complaint
letter to [company name] about [brief description of the problem].
Structure it as: what was purchased and when, what went wrong, prior
attempts to resolve it and their outcome, and a specific requested
remedy with a reasonable response deadline (e.g. 14 days). Use a
calm, factual tone — no legal threats, no claims about what law
applies, and do not state anything as fact that I have not given
you. If a detail is missing, leave a placeholder rather than
inventing one.

2. Draft the follow-up

Draft a brief follow-up letter to send if there has been no response
to the original complaint by [deadline date]. Reference the original
letter's date and requested remedy, and state that the next step
will be a formal complaint to [consumer protection agency /
ombudsman service name], without threatening legal action.
