# Verified Travel Itinerary Template

For the method in
[Travel Planning That Survives Opening Hours, Visas, and Reality](/articles/travel-plan-verification-workflow).
Never rely on a generated opening hour, visa rule, or entry requirement without checking the primary source.

## Not for

Visa, health, safety, or entry-requirement decisions made from AI output alone. Official
government, embassy, and venue sources control — this template just tracks that you checked them.

## Trip skeleton (safe to generate)

- **Destination(s):**
- **Dates:**
- **Group size / access needs:**
- **Rough day-by-day shape:**

## Verified stops

| Stop | Source checked (URL / phone) | Date checked | Verified hours / availability | Reservation confirmed? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | | | | ☐ Yes ☐ No |
| | | | | ☐ Yes ☐ No |

| | | | | ☐ Yes ☐ No |

## Transfer margins and fallbacks

| Dependency (A must finish before B) | Buffer built in | Fallback if missed |

## Accessibility confirmation

| Stop | Access need | Confirmed directly with venue? | Notes |

## The three prompts to reuse

**1. Draft the skeleton**

```text
Draft a rough [N]-day itinerary skeleton for [destination], [group
size and any mobility or dietary needs], moderate pace (2-3 stops
per day, not a checklist sprint). Suggest a logical geographic order
for stops to minimize backtracking. Do not include specific opening
hours, prices, or visa information — just the shape and order of the
days.
```

**2. Flag transfer margins**

```text
Given this verified schedule [paste stops with verified times], flag
every point where one activity depends on the previous one finishing
on time. For each, suggest a reasonable buffer given typical
[transit type] delays, and one fallback option if the margin is not
enough. Do not invent specific delay statistics — describe the
buffer in general terms and flag anything I should verify with the
carrier directly.
```

**3. Check accessibility needs**

```text
For each stop, given [specific access need], list what would need to
be true for this stop to work (step-free access, elevator, adapted
restroom, seating, quiet space, etc.). Do not assume a listing's
"accessible" label covers these — mark each stop "needs direct
confirmation with the venue" until verified.
```

## Final check, a few days before departure

- [ ] Re-verified every timed reservation and hard deadline
- [ ] Re-checked official visa / entry advisories for recent changes
- [ ] Re-checked venue hours for any that could shift seasonally
- [ ] Confirmed accessibility arrangements directly with each venue
