# Energy-Aware Week Plan

Run the 7-day log first. Only build the planning board once you have real data, not a guess about your own energy.

## Part 1: Seven-Day Energy Observation Log

Log at roughly the same few checkpoints each day. Use a 1–5 scale (1 = depleted, 5 = sharp and capable of hard thinking). Note, don't diagnose — you are looking for a pattern, not a health conclusion.

| Day | Morning energy (1-5) | Midday energy (1-5) | Afternoon energy (1-5) | Evening energy (1-5) | What helped or hurt today |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Mon | | | | | |
| Tue | | | | | |
| Wed | | | | | |
| Thu | | | | | |
| Fri | | | | | |
| Sat | | | | | |
| Sun | | | | | |

## Part 2: Find Your Pattern

- Time block where energy is most consistently high:
- Time block where energy is most consistently low:
- What predicts a bad block (poor sleep, back-to-back meetings, skipped food, something else)?
- What predicts a good block?

## Part 3: Classify Your Work

| Task type | Examples | Energy it needs |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Deep / hard thinking | Writing, analysis, strategy, difficult decisions | High |
| Collaborative | Meetings, negotiation, coaching | Medium-high |
| Administrative | Email, scheduling, expenses, routine approvals | Low-medium |
| Recovery | Breaks, walks, unstructured time | Protects future capacity |

## Part 4: Weekly Planning Board

Match task type to your real high-energy blocks from Part 2 — not to whatever slot happens to be free on the calendar.

| Day | High-energy block: protect for | Low-energy block: use for | Recovery block (non-negotiable) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Mon | | | |
| Tue | | | |
| Wed | | | |
| Thu | | | |
| Fri | | | |

## Part 5: Review Rule

- Recheck date (2-4 weeks out):
- Sign that the plan is working:
- Sign that the plan needs adjusting:

## Boundary

This log tracks patterns in a normal week, not a medical measurement. Do not use it to self-diagnose a sleep, mood, or health condition. If low energy is persistent, worsening, or affecting daily functioning regardless of schedule changes, that is a signal to talk to a qualified healthcare provider, not to plan around it indefinitely.
